Can't unlock patio door to change out double hook lock

Question

The latch lever on my patio door will not unlock door. I took it apart and found the multi point latch lever is not connected to anything. Did something break off inside the lock? How can I get the door unlocked so I can change the double hook mortise lock? I have tried screwdrivers, wires but access is limited. Help!

Hey there. Hm, I'm afraid I'm not sure what to advise you to do. You did say you tried using a screwdriver. Try using it again, but this time try and "jiggle" the door. Maybe that can free up the lock. Can you get in contact with the supplier of the door? Maybe they have had this problem before and know how to repair it.
