Caradco Window Fix

Home Owner from New Bern, NC
I recently moved into a new home that has a number of case windows with Caradco hardware. Four of the windows are not operating properly. I am able to engage the crank handle to open the windows, however when I attempt to close the window the handle turns out of the window crank mechanism altogether.

My question is: Is there an easy fix for this type problem or do I need to install new casement window cranks. The windows are decades old. I have attached pix of what is currently in place as well as the handle I'm left holding when attempting to close. II have not removed a casement in order to give accurate measurements, but you will that the hardware is marked "TRUTH" and the number 20755. Please advise on the best way to proceed. Thanks!

Thanks for posting! The worm gear mechanism has become dislodge from the operator and the are typically machine pressed into the operator. Therefore, you won't be able to repair the operator, you'll need to replace it.

Your operator resembles our 39-031 Truth Dual-Arm Operator (the opposite handed version is part 39-032). Compare the dimensions from your existing operator to those shown on the diagram below.

Dimensions for 39-031
Dimensions for 39-031

These operators are compatible with the 39-107 cover along with the 39-114 non-folding handle, like the one you have. There is also the more updated version of the non-folding handle, part 39-114L or the folding crank handle, part 39-205. The last option is the 39-107FK, which is a folding crank and handle kit.
