Caradco awning window operator

A handy person from Burlington, VT says:
Hi, I ordered Swisco item # 39-069 to replace a broken operator (in photos). It looks like it'll fit, but I cannot figure out how it gets installed. Installing from either the inside or the outside of the window sash seems impossible. Does the new operator pop open or somehow come apart? Thanks, Bill

Hey, Bill. If you look under the arms of the 39-069, you can see a flat part of the housing fans out. This part of the housing takes screws which mount directly to the sill. You'll probably have to remove the sill trim in order to access them.
