Caradco casement operator

A home owner from Tucson, Arizona says:
Home was built in 1994/95 with all caradco windows. The pictured window is a bathroom window that kicks out. The nut that holds the winder is stripped and won't hold the mechanism in place while turning the butterfly crank and the window won't close all the way.

Can you help me fix or replace the mechanism?

Thanks

Hello! Sounds like the worm gear is stripped. This unfortunately cannot be repaired, so replacing the operator mechanism will be necessary.

Fortunately, we can sell you the part in question. There are two possibilities: either the 39-140, with an elbow-to-elbow measurement of 16", or the 39-143, with the same measurement at 12". You will need to close the arms all the way to measure the elbows accurately.
