Need to replace mortise lock. Thought your part 82-226 would be suitable equivalent. I

I think your instinct is correct. Your mortise latch does look like 82-226, which was popular with Caradco doors. Just compare dimensions to be sure that what you're ordering is the same size as what you have installed in your door currently.
