Caradco sliding glass door lock

Home Owner from Spencer, Iowa
The sliding glass door is from 1974. The internal parts seem fine, but the latch on the inside of the house broke off. How do we get another? Image 1499 shows broken missing locking handle under door handle. Image 1501 shows another indoor angle and image 1502 shows from the outside. The screws are 4" apart.

We have been without a locking door for 3 months - Help! I'm so glad I found your site! What do we need and how do we get it? Thanks very much!

Thanks for posting! This looks to be an older handle, and I don't think it's made anymore. I know for certain that the missing thumb latch isn't replaceable. However, please take a look at our 82-035 Patio Door Handle Set. I think this is a more modern version of your existing handle. Do you think this could work as a substitute?

Thanks for the reply Dave. Is this difficult to install? I would guess that the screw holes are in the same place. The information mentions that the thumb latch can be set in 3 different locations - what does that entail? Thanks for your help - this looks like the correct product!

Our 82-035 is fairly easy to install; you just need to make sure that everything lines up as you screw it in.

The thumb latch can go in three different locations. You can see a better view of exactly where these positions are in the following picture.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

The parts came! I used a phillips screw driver and had the problem solved in about 10 minutes! I could even use the wooden handle from the original lock, so it was EASY! Thanks so very muich for your help! I will always recommend your company to anyone needing parts for doors or windows!

Need an external lock for a Caradco 6 ft sliding patio door. Was never installed at the beginning, unfortunately, which was about 10 yrs ago. Would appreciate a solution and any help. Thanks!
