Casement crank just stopped working

The crank just stopped working and seems to not be grabbing the gear to open the window. I'm assuming I need to replace the crank and gear parts?

Hello,

You're correct that since the worm geat that the handle mounts onto is broken, you'll need to replace the full assembly. If you could open the window and show us the arms that push the window sash in and out, we should be able to recommend a suitable replacement. Thank you!
