Casement Window Locks

Both of the locks on my casement winds are broken in the locked position. I have to figure out how to unlock them to get the window open to replace the locks,any words of advice??

We have a video that shows how you can repair a lock that's stuck as you describe. Hopefully this will be of some help to you. I'll share it below.

Another trick not mentioned in the video that I've personally found helpful is to slip a credit card between the sash and frame from the inside to kind of force the lock up. It's not always possible and is entirely dependent on the frame itself, but I thought I'd mention it just in case you're one of the lucky ones.

If all else fails, you may need to have a local professional come out and look at the situation for you. In a worst case scenario the lock will need to be cut off, which is no small project.
