Casement crank mechanism
Thank you.
Thanks for writing in. We come across this operator now and again. I'm afraid it is no longer made, but depending on the length of the link arm, you may be able to use something like our 39-028E as a replacement. We cannot guarantee that this will work, and it will require some adaptation of the sill and sill trim due to the differences in the shape of the operator bases. Nevertheless, take a look and see what you think. If you try it, let us know how you make out.
The arm length on the current (broken) operator is 11", and the length on the operator you suggested is 9-1/2". Will this work with a different arm length? Seems like it should, but I'm uncertain.
The arm length is definitely a concern, as is the style of the base. You will almost certainly have to retrofit the sill to accept the new design as well as the location of the track on the sash to make up for the difference size arm. Even then, there's a good chance it still won't work. I wouldn't suggest trying if you aren't handy, or even if you've never worked with this kind of window before.
