Casement handle and actuator (?)
The photos sent show our current situation with our casement window (s). Obviously we definitely need to replace these parts. Would greatly appreciate advice.
Thank you.
Thanks for posting. When that gear pops out with the handle, the entire operator definitely needs to be replaced. We likely can help, but I need to see the entire assembly, including the link arm(s) that push and pull the casement window sash. If you could open the window manually and give us a bird's eye view of the entire mechanism, arms and all, we should be able to narrow this down for you.
Window width. 16"
Pivoting arm 5 1/2"
The other arm. (GU in photo) 3 1/2"
3rd arm 5 1/2". Approximately
The left hand is broken, we would like to replace both.
Are replacement parts available?
Thank you,
Thank you?
These photos are a huge help, thank you! What you have here is the old GU brand operator. These are unfortunately not made anymore, but the good news is that we have a viable alternative that will work just as well. The catch is that it requires a bit of handiwork to get functional in your window.
I highly recommend watching the video below. This will tell you exactly what you need to buy and how to get those parts working in your particular window.

However parts # 39-105 , "Stainless Steel Detach Clip" has no R or L distinction. Should I assume part # 39-105 may be used for both right and left installation? (we need both)
Also, can "Crank Handle 11/32" # 39-114L " be used for right and left installation?
Thank you!
That's correct, both parts you just mentioned are neutral and therefore can be used on either left or right hand applications interchangeably.
You're welcome! Please feel free to reach out if you had any other questions.
