Casement lock
A home owner from Carmel, New York says:

I am looking to replace casement locks. My unit closely resembles your #38-036. The only markings on my unit is the U.S. Patent Number 4.674.777. Is it possible to determine if your unit will work as a replacement for mine?

Regarding the discussion with the homeowner from Carmel, NY back on June 8th, 2010...
Did your casement lock # 38-036 prove to match his lock with the US Patent # 4,674,777, as I have the same one that I'm working with presently.

How the the front trim piece (I'm assuming it's a separate piece which hides the screw holes) attach to the lock mechanism? Does it just snap on?

The trim piece is not removable, it is a part of the lock housing. The lock is screwed in from behind with a #8 x 1/2" pan head screw.
Submit a few photos of your lock so we can take a look and make sure you're ordering the right part. |
