Casement lock missed the mark

I tried to fix my casement window with Swisco's 38-036. However, the hook won't grab the post properly. What do you suggest?

Well, to be honest, I have replaced this older-style lock with our 38-036 many times, and I've never had too much trouble. I'm not sure why it's not working for you, so let me make some suggestions. If you were to file off the inside of the locking hook on the 38-036, might that help? Also, see if you can adjust the keeper on the window sash, and make sure your window is closing properly. Maybe the frame of the window is cracked, and that's causing your problem.
