Casement operator with cover

A handy person from Staten Island says:
Trying to locate this operator. Not sure if I need one without a cover a need to purchase a cover separately. The one I need is all one piece. The arm measures approximately 13 1/2 inches from the base of operator. Also I added a pic showing how the extended arm is connected to the sash. It has a swivel lock mechanism. Hope you can help me. Thank you.

Hello there!

Thank you for reaching out to us. Start by taking a look at the 39-399 and 39-400 operators along with the 39-451. Carefully review the specifications and see how they compare with your old assembly.

A handy person from Staten Island says:

Helbaawd upon your reply I purchased 39-399 and 39-400. When I compared the picture to what I needed everything matched except your picture didn't have any dimensions for the width of the operator. Hence the ones I purchased are not long enough inside to cover the hole.

I need the 39-399 and 400 operator with those dimensions but the case itself has to be the size as why I originally stated in my first email which is about 6 1/4 " wide where it meets the opening in the sill. The actual length is 5 1/4 inches. (don't know where 6 1/4) came from. .

Please refer to the picture I sent with the dimensions and please let me know if you have an operator that matches. Thank you so much for all your help in the past. Much appreciated. Also I'd like to return the two that I purchased if you could tell me what's needed to do that. Thank you

We're sorry to hear you're having issues. Upon a closer look at your photos, I believe you are showing us two different windows with different operators. To help us confirm, can you remove each operator from the window and show us a photo of them side by side along with any attachments?

A handy person from Staten Island says:
Here are the additional pics of this operator. As I've stated earlier I purchased 39-399 and 39-400. These operators were the right length and proper track guide but the body of the operator that attaches to the sill is too short. I hope this helps. Thank you.

Thanks for getting back to us. I am afraid we don't sell a version of the 39-399 and 39-400 with a wider base. However, please allow us to look into this a little further. I can't promise we will be able to come up with an alternative but we will try our best. I will reach out to you the moment I have more information available.

Thank you for your patience! We really appreciate it.

We contacted both of our suppliers who deal with Roto and Truth operators. They both told us that the operator base shown here is from Truth and the clip at the end of the arm is Roto. My thought is that your operator could have been adapted to fit the Roto clip.

With that said, take a look at the two Truth operators listed with the wide body you need (these are the newer style with removable covers). See the 39-449 with the 39-529 slider and 39-528 track. Also, take a look at the 39-457 with the 39-520 track. Review the specifications for each to see if you could adapt the track to your operating window.

A handy person from Staten Island says:
Thank you once again. I think I can make the 39-449 work but noticed it's 12 3/4". Does this operator come in the 13" size

Dave Sr. from SWISCO responded:

The 39-449 has a 11-3/4" long arm but we don't have another version of this operator with a 13" arm. I am sorry for the inconvenience.

A handy person from Staten Island says:
Thank you for all your help. I'm going to order the 39-449 and 39-450. I see a few choices for covers and handles and was wondering if the 39-376 and the 39-452 are two options for the 39-449 operator

Dave Sr. from SWISCO responded:

Yes, the 39-375 & 39-376 and 39-451 & 39-452 are our only options for the 39-449 and 39-450 operators.

A handy person from Staten Island says:

Hello once again. This operator has taken me to a new level. Can't get it right. Originally I purchased the 39-399-400 operators. Right length right hardware but the body was about 4" and the one I'm replacing is approx 6" So then I purchased the 39-449 & 450 operators. They have a shorter arm but they work just the same.

In addition I needed to purchase covers and handles and then had to purchase the track slider 39-529. Unfortunately, the track on the sash works with the roto track slider 39-541. And doesn't align with the track slider I bought. So now I need to change the track on the sash to accommodate the track slider. 39-529. The track on the sash is 17" long. The only track I can see is 13" that will work with this track slander.

Is there a 17" track and if not would the 13" track work the same and just restrict how much the window will open

I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble. We don't sell an exact match for your operator setup so I'm afraid we can't guarantee any of these parts will work but you could take a look at the 39-528 track which goes with the 39-529 face guide. I can't see in your photos how your track is mounted to the window sash though. The 39-528 is mounted to the lower "face" of the sash. I'm just not sure if your track gets mounted to the bottom of the sash or the face.  Look this part over to see if it can be installed in the same way as your existing track.

We, unfortunately, don't sell a hinge with a 17" base but we have the 36-004-18 with a 18" base. We can't make any promises but take a look and see what you think.
