I also have the #31272 window crank set. do I order 2 sets of the 36-048 to replace both sides or is the top set a different number

The 36-048 comes in a set, with hinges for the top and bottom of the casement window. We always recommend replacing both hinges in the window to ensure that they work together and nothing binds up.
