Casement window crank

Quick Learner from Fairfax, Virginia
I have a Barber and Ross Casement window in my kitchen that was installed when the house was new in 1995. The crank can open the window but when you turn the handle to close it, it just spins. The kitchen as two windows that open out from the center with two cranks and both have the same problem. I am attaching a picture if that will help. Do you know which parts I would need and do you have them?
Thanks,
Jeanne

Thanks for posting, Jeanne. Unfortunately, that gear is not meant to come out of the operator. You will have to replace the whole unit. I'd be happy to help you identify the operator, but I can't quite make out what you have based on this image. If at all possible, could you remove your operator from the window and take a few pictures of it separately? That will help us find a suitable replacement.

Is this what you are looking for? If not, let me know.

If I can't replace this part, is it possible to replace the whole apparatus with something different?

Thanks for your help!

Thanks for getting back to us! That is the operator we need to see, yes, but I have to see the entire unit, including it's arms, which are hidden from view in this picture. If you can, please remove it from the window and take a few pictures of it separately. If you're having trouble removing it, please extend the windows out as far as they can and get as good a shot of the arms as you can.

Attached is a picture of the other side of the operator and the arms.

Thank you. Just by eyeballing what you have, I'd recommend our 39-032 & 39-031 EntryGard Dual Arm Operators right off the bat. That said, I highly recommend that you compare their dimensions to your own hardware just to make sure that they're a good match. Make sure to make special note of their short-arm length as compared to your own.

This is it! I want to order both left and right along with the handle and cover. Is the 39-114L the correct handle to work with both left and right?

Also, in measuring I finally found a part number. on The long arm I found Truth Entry Guard 40754.

Yes, the 39-114L is the handle to go with the 39-031 & 39-032. You could also use the 39-205, which is the folding equivalent to the 39-114L. You may also want to consider new covers, depending on the condition of your existing ones. See our 39-107.
