Casement window crank won't close window

A home owner from Boston, MA says:
Hello,

I have a 2 casement windows at the front of my house. One of the 2 casement windows will not crank close, it's like the gear is not catching. When opening this window it seems normal, but when trying to close I need to actively pull the window in by hand while cranking it.

I need some guidance on what parts to order. Thank you!

Tom from SWISCO responded:

It definitely sounds like the gears in the operator are stripped out. A good way to test this is to disconnect the operator arm from the sash entirely and then try closing it by hand. If the sash opens and closes freely, without binding up like you describe, then you need an all new operator.

Based on your photos, yours appears to be a match for our 39-187. Look it over just to make sure that everything matches up and let me know if you had any questions!
