Aloha from Hawaii,
I am helping my friend replace casement window hardware on four windows in his garage. The windows are 3'0 x 3'0 single pane. He purchased hardware from your company. The order was #1418406. He purchased four 2 bar hinge sets. Part #36-004-10.
I am a retired elevator mechanic. So I was able to do the work. I was able to get the window working with a couple of problems. As the window opens the edge of the window hits the track see pics. Also the window is sagging and does not close completely. I have three questions.
#1 How do you calculate what length hinges you need to use. I am aware that some hinges are designed for egress. in our situation that is not an issue.
#2 How do I keep the edge of the window from contacting the frame.
#3 Would four bar hinges make a difference? I know that there are adjustable hinges that would help with the sagging.
I would like to return and reorder the parts we have if necessary. We are sooo close. I was able to hook up the operator and it works well. The window opens about 45 degrees before the edge impacts the track.
