Casement window latch handle broken

Quick Learner from Portland, ME
The handle on the lock/latch broke on a casement window latch. (Picture shows it in place, but it actually broke off.)

The previous owner/builder of the house says the windows are from Paradigm.

I can't find a Paradigm label for the model and serial number, but there's a certification sticker that says Series 8351 Casement 740-006, if that's any help.

Hey there!

Thank you for reaching out to us. Your lock reminds me of the 38-139. This has a 1-1/2" "fork" projection which is an important detail to pay attention to. The 38-158 locking handle plate is sold separately. We recommend you review the specifications and compare them with yours to determine if this lock matches what you need.

I did end up ordering the 38-139, and it works. The fork is a bit shorter than the original one I had, but it's still long enough to latch successfully.

Should I ever need one again, I might look to see if there's a model with a slightly longer fork.

But for now, I'm all set -- thanks for the help!
