Casement window lock - what piece do I need?

Quick Learner from USA

I'm almost thinking we just need to replace the whole lock assembly. Most of the other window parts were Truth -
The black piece is 35 inches long. The handle looks just like one that a Swisco rep showed me but that little piece connecting the two doesn't look right.

Hello,

It's tough to say what you need by seeing individual pieces instead of the entire assembly but you can start by comparing the specifications of the 38-205 locking handle to yours. Is that the part that you were discussing with one of our representatives?

No we have looked at that piece and it doesn't go with the tie bar we have

We can't be positive but it may be necessary to replace your complete tie bar lock assembly. Your locking handle looks like it is a Truth part but the black color tie bar is not familiar to us. Normally, Truth uses a beige color for its hardware. Take a look at the parts we've related on this page to see if you can retrofit any of them to work your window.

I have seen this part, its a truth part. I've come across black truth parts like operators.  Do you not have the exact part?

Take a look at the 38-201 Jeld-Wen link assembly that goes with the 38-209 handle set. It's not offered in black, but review the specifications to see if this could be the part you are looking for.
