This older window is missing the worm gear drive portion. This is an example from another window that is operative.

Hello,
I do not recognize the part shown in your photo at first glance but it looks like it may be part of a casement window operator. We would need to see the rest of the assembly and determine how it attaches to the internal window linkage to determine if it is something that we can supply. Thank you.

Unfortunately, the only part that we carry for this assembly is the handle, the 39-148. As for the operator and related parts, you will need to contact a Peachtree dealer near you to see if they can still supply a replacement. I'm sorry that we won't be able to offer more assistance with this repair but please let us know if you have any other hardware questions.
