Casement window replacement operator

Home Owner from Georgia, USA

Dear Swisco,

Please see the photo of our casement window operator.

In order #1009528, I ordered part #39-172, but the base with the holes for fastening it to the window frame is the wrong size.

The order also included 2 parts #39-171 for other windows that need the operator replaced. The base for those is also the wrong size.

Is it possible to return these 3 parts and get ones that are the right size?

Thank you,

Peter

I've never seen that before. To be honest, you could have an older version of the same operator. I don't know if having a different base will really make that much of a difference, you would just have to drill new holes in the sill to accommodate the new operator. It even looks like the two holes closest to the operator body match up. Could you just use those?

Dave,

Thanks for your reply. We will do our best to drill new holes, but it may not work because that part of the operator fits through a slot in the window frame. Here is a photo.

Anyway, thanks for getting back to me.

Ah, I see. Drilling holes in that spot may be tricky. I'm afraid we don't have anything else that matches your operator style. The original may have been specially made for your window because of that overhang. If the original window suppliers are still in business, they may have something for you.
