Casement window replacement part help

Home Owner from Algonquin, IL, United States

I need help identifying what part I need to fix this window.  In pic's #1 and #5 I circled the part on the left that cracked and the part on the window that clipped into it.  The cracked part slides across the track and this doesn't have the same installation as your video does.  Can you offer any help with this?

Thank you!

Hi Marlene,

Thanks for writing in! The piece you have circled in your photos is the track slider for the casement window hinge. This part is not sold separately from the hinge, so you're going to need to replace the entire set to complete your repairs.

I'm confident we can provide you with a replacement, but I'll need to know the length of track installed to the sill. This is the part the track slider travels on.

Please feel free to reach out with any questions you might have.

Hi Jasmine,

The length of the track is 9.75" long.  Since it will need to be replaced entirely, do you have something that will match the handle?  I have 6 of these in the bay window and the one that broke is the center left window so you see it.  I've also attached a photo just to make sure I measured the correct part.

Thank you!

Thanks for confirming the length. The closest replacement match is the 36-048 2-Bar Hinge Set. You'll need to replace the top and bottom hinge to ensure that they'll be a match. These can be used for both right and left handed applications.

I'm afraid we do not have any color options for the hinges we sell, they are just made of steel.

Jasmine,
So the 36-048 2-Bar Hinge Set is a set of both righ and left hinges.  Can I just get the left hinge?
Also, when I asked about the color, I meant the handle or crank to open/close the window. I guess when I read that I'd need to replace the entire set I thought you meant the entire left side of everything.  I'm assuming I can use my current handle, etc... I'm just needting to replace the hinge, is that correct?  Lastly, do you have a video on how to do this?  When I go to open that window it's a doozey to get it closed being broken and there doesn't seem to be an obvious way to pop pieces off easily. So I just want to make sure I know what I'm doing before hand.
Thanks again!
Marlene
I'm sorry I'm not seeing your replies in my email.  I've had to find the link to access everything.

My apologies for misunderstanding. It does not appear the cover and handle can be removed from your operator. That said, you would need to replace the entire operator to replace them. What you have appears to be the 39-221B Encore Dyad Sill Mount Operator (its opposite version is the 39-220B). You'll need to compare the dimensions to determine if this is the correct replacement.

The compatible cover is the 39-451 Encore Truth Operator Cover and Handle. The folding version is the 39-375. Their opposite versions can be found below.

The 36-048 is only sold as a set. As mentioned, they can be used to replace both the top and bottom hinges on right and left hand applications. You'll just need to position the hinge in the correct orientation for the side of the window you're repairing.

The video tutorial below shows a detailed demonstration on removing/installing these hinges.
