In the picture where it is circled in red is where this part goes. Its a guide on the underside on a casement certainteed window

It sounds like the part may be the fitting attached to the end of your operator arm. If so, we'll need to see photos of your original operator with the window open so the arms that move the sash are fully visible to compare to our inventory.
