Certainteed Glass Door Lock Mechanism

Landlord from Sandy, Utah

I hope you can help me. I've now given up, after multiple years, on trying to get parts from Ply Gem Windows providing lifetime warranty coverage for Certainteed glass doors. I'm ready to purchase the parts from you, if you can provide them. I'll note that I will much rather pay more for exact replacement parts than needing to make modifications to the door. Moreover, I've promised my spouse that I'll get the door fixed by Christmas so I'm motivated.

I'll note that last year I received a replacement handle (see attached photo named "replacement handle needing cosmetic plugs") but I did not receive all of the pieces I need for the repair. Please tell me if you can provide the following parts:

1. I expect that there are decorative cosmetic plugs which fit in the square holes shown in the attached photo named "replacement handle needing cosmetic plugs." Without the plugs, the unattractive bolts will be seen by the users.

2. The entire locking mechanism shown in the attached photo named "broken locking mechanism." In the attached photo named "broken half of pin from locking mechanism w working rotating shaft," which I sent earlier, the pin which has broken off from the locking mechanism is shown. The attached photo named "location of remaining half of broken pin from locking mechanism" shows the location of the broken pin. I believe that I'll need the entire locking mechanism will need to be replaced to attempt a satisfactory repair.

In case it is helpful to you, in the attached pdf file named "Certainteed glass door warranty photos" I've included all of the photos I sent to make my warranty claim which resulted in the replacement handle being sent a couple of years ago (the handle showing the attached individual photo).

Thanks for your help. I'll be happy to provide any additional information to help you, via reply or over the phone. If you can't help me, I'll greatly appreciate a referral to who you think is best. I'll look forward to hearing from you.

Hi Grant, thanks for writing in. Your latch lever looks like our 82-240. As for your mortise lock, I would suggest taking a look at the 82-238. Yours appears to be the 82-238 without the face plate, but I would double check the dimensions to be sure. I'm afraid we don't have any cosmetic plugs for that handle set, but if you want to consider a new handle set, I think our 82-080 could do the trick.

Thanks to Julia. I ordered the suggested lock and the suggested new handle set. Hopefully both will fit with minimal, or no, modification. Grant
