I was cleaning my windows and I had a problem with one of them as it came out of the frame and I was unable to place it back into the frame completely so that it could be locked.
I then removed it again and discovered that the pivot pin shoe was damaged and it wouldn't allow the sash pivot bar to seat completely into the shoe. I then removed the pivot bar on the left side of the window and didn't realize that there were 2 screws securing it to the bottom of the window. I removed one screw and since it wouldn't come off I applied force to it with a screwdriver and cracked it. When I finally was able to remove the window from the frame, I saw that there was a second screw securing the pivot bar to the window.
I then contacted a couple of companies who deal with the certainteed type windows and arranged for a service call. The gentleman was able to replace the pivot pin shoe, however, he didn't have the proper sash pivot bar. All of the bars he had were the type where the pin was on center, however, my pivot bar is designed so that the pin is offset, therfore, the on center pins woud not seat properly in the shoe.
Consequently, my question is whether all the sash pivot bars you sell have pins that are on center or do you also sell pivot bars that are designed with the pin offset?
I hope that I have explained my problem clearly enough and would appreciate your response.
Thank you.
