Certainteed replacement

Quick Learner from Easthampton, Ma
Hi, I took out my window sash on my curtain teed windows but now can't get them back in because the center piece has no outlet. The parts all are working fine can I use this replacement? Or even find a new metal core that would fit to get them back in?

We sell the Certainteed brand 15-192 pivot shoe, but this is a much more modern version of your old part and I don't believe it will work in the track without some adaptation. For instance, the two small "nubs" on the face of the shoe would have to be filed down. The overall thickness may also need to be reduced for it to operate comfortably.

I'm not sure why they changed the design to be such an awkward fit for older windows, but change it they did. It can still work but keep in mind that those adaptations I mentioned will almost certainly be necessary, and that any parts altered in that way unfortunately cannot be returned for a refund.
