Question

This latch attached to top of lower sash allowing sash to fold in for cleaning. Held in position by two counter sunk screws, center to center distance one and a quarter inch. upper side, releases sash to fold inward

There's a lot of useful info here. You probably need a 1-1/4" surface-mounted tilt latch, from what you're describing. Can we see a photo of your latch to try to narrow down which particular one you need?
