Hi,
Recently a bought a Channel Balances Series 385, L=34" Option: 3310. Today I replaced them. They are correct size but the window keeps sliding down. It looks like the spring is not strong enough to resist the window self-weight.
I will appreciate your advice.
Thank you,
Lyubo

Good morning, and thanks for posting. I agree--it sounds like your balances aren't strong enough to support your window sash weight. It may be possible that you did not choose the appropriate option for your balance. Did you choose the 3310 option based on the number stamped on your channel balance?
The 3310 option can support a window sash weight range of 8 through 13 pounds. Does your sash's weight fall within that range? You can determine your sash weight by removing it from the window and placing it on a scale. Let me know!
Please keep in mind that the weight range information is based on 2 balances per sash. Balances are designed assuming friction in the jamb weather-strip will carry a portion of the sash weight. Suggested sash weights are approximate.

Hi Tom,
Thank you for your response. There was no number stamped on my old channel balance. I did pick option 3310 because I didn't know what to choose. The weight of my window is 28.6 lb. Please advice me what is the right option for this weight. I have several windows with this size and weight and I want to buy more channel balances but this time I want to be sure that I will purchase the right product.
Thank you
Lyubo

Thanks for getting back to us. I would recommend the 3350 option, which can carry a window sash weight of 28 through 32 pounds.
