Question

Could you kindly assist me in determining the appropriate size of the balancer required? Additionally, the inscription on the balancer states 44BSI; does this refer to the sash weight associated with that number?

Thanks for your patience during this busy summer season. I'm confident that we can supply this balance, but before I recommend anything I think it would be best if we look at the top plastic fitting. I'd also like to know the depth of the bottom plastic fitting, shown in your photo. If you were to stand the balance up on end, this would be the "heel to toe" measurement. There are quite a few combination of plastic fittings and they're an important aspect of identification.

Regarding the stamp, those last two numbers do indicate sash weight, yes. You may want to weigh your sash on a scale just to verify, though. While it's very likely that this number is accurate, I always like to check to be 100% sure. You won't believe how many times I have a mismatched stamp and sash weight. Sometimes the installers are in a rush and don't always put in the right weights.
