Chanel balance for tilt in single hung window

Contractor from Ocala, Florida
There are two stamps on the channel, one is "2760 B" and the other is "USB"
The channel width is 9/16" and the height is 1/2", the channel length is 28"
I need balances for three sashes that are 52" wide and 31" tall and for four sashes that are 25" wide and 31" tall for a total of 14 new channel balances

Thanks for your post! There is a chance we may be able to provide you with the replacement balances you need. Although, to determine this, there are a few details you'll need to gather.

To start, I'll need to know the length of the metal channel (excluding the attachments) for both balance replacements you are requesting. I'll also need to see a photo of the attachment on the bottom of the balance with the pivot shoe removed. Are you able to remove the shoe from the balance?

Since the windows have difference sizes, it would be a good idea to confirm the sash weights for the windows. Unfortunately, I am unable to determine that based on the size of the balance.

Please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions you might have.

As stated above the channel length is 28 inches. I approximate that the smaller sashes to be about 28 pounds each and the larger ones about 60 pounds each. I will need tilt shoes for all as well. The tilt shoe is 1 inch wide, 2 inches long and a little bit more than 1/2 inch thick

Thanks for confirming the information. I have the balances narrowed down to the Series 770 Balance however, I will need to know the exact weight of the sashes to determine the stamps for the replacement balance.

For the 28lb sash, the balances can use either the 28D (which supports 23 to 28lbs) or the 28E (which supports 28 to 32lbs).

The sash you approximate to be 60lbs, will need a custom assembly since the weight exceeds the weight range our standard balances can support. Custom assemblies cannot be returned and are non-refundable so, it would be that much more important to get an exact weight.

In the meantime, the balance shoe can be replaced with the 15-167 Pivot Lock shoe. Be sure to double check the dimensions to be sure.

Keep in mind, you'll likely need to replace the existing pivot bar as well. I'm happy to recommend a replacement, I'll just need to see a photo of it removed from the bottom of the sash.
