Channel Balance 31_3_FS Caldwell

Handy Person from Hood River, OR

I need some channel balances, it measures 1/2" x 32" (metal end to end). The marking on the balance is 25 3 ES Caldwell. The window company is Insulate. I think the home was built in 1999. The window also looks like it's bottom loading...pretty sure I can't get the window out.

See image with square hook hole and rectangle hole with plastic cover. These are these are the only holes I have in my sash. I don't have a top clip in my sash. Not sure if I have to install these differently without top clips.

Thanks for your photos. Based on what I see here, you have either our Series 380 or Series 385, depending on the depth of the bottom shoe. That's the only difference between them. I recommend measuring your shoe and referring to our dimensions to confirm the best match.

I'm also not sure about length. Your stamp in the photo and your title say "31 3," which matches your given length of 32". However you also claim in your post that the stamp is "25 3," which indicates a length of 26", not 32". Can you clarify?

Lastly, you mention there not being a top clip in your sash. I'm not sure what that might be. Are you referring to the top sash guide? If so, then those are necessary for the balance to stay in place during operation. If your sash doesn't have any, then I don't know how else it would function. You may want to triple check to be sure. Make sure to check under the top edge of the sash. Sometimes they're obscured.
