Channel Balance

Home Owner from North Carolina
Hello,

On the first photo (30 3 Caldwell JM) this window is 31?, I need to know what series number and weight to order. Would this be Series 380, option 3030?

On the second photo (18 4 Caldwell JM) this window is 19?, I need to know What series and weight to order. Would this be Series 350, option 1840?

Thank you,
Nancy

Hi, Nancy. The information provided doesn't tell us anything about your balance assemblies. These are spring codes for the spring inside the balance. Check out our half-inch channel balances to find what you need. As for the length and the option, you were correct to choose 3030 and 1840.

what information do you need from me to figure out the balance assemblies?

Thanks for getting back to us. We need to know the metal length measurements of each balance. We'd also need to see some additional photos of the entire balance including the nylon attachments. From there we can narrow down the possible options of what can be used for a replacement.

The balance measurements are as follows:

  • 32-1/4"
  • 38-1/4"
  • 20-3/8"

I hope you can tell which option can be used for a replacement from the photos. I look forward to hearing from you.

I would recommend either our Series 380 or Series 385, depending on the size of the bottom shoe. I'm personally leaning more towards the Series 380, which you picked out in your first post, but it'll all come down to the size of that shoe.

I would also double check the lengths you gave us. Make sure to only measure the metal channels. Most channel balances in this style end in full lengths. The stamps you gave us in your first post imply a metal channel length of 31" (for the 30 3 stamp) and a length of 19" (for the 18 4 stamp).
