Channel Balance

Handy Person from 1938 S. 370th Ct, Federal Way, WA 98003

I had channel balance cord break in a Milguard window.

The printed number on the back of the channel is: 26 4 CL CALDWELL

The metal part is 27" long.

The bottom of the channel is 1 1/16" wide but the top measures 1 1/8".

The width of the shoe is 1 1/8"

The window weight is 23 lbs.

Can you ID a replacement part from this info and pictures?

If so, what is the replacement and shipping costs for one of these items.

Thanks

Hi Cliff,

With this combination of attachments, you could have either an S380-27 or S385-27 channel balance. You’ll need to measure as shown below. The Series 380 has a 1" bottom attachment, and the Series 385 has a 1-3/32" attachment. You'll also need 2640 spring strength options for your replacement balances.

Thank you and let us know if you have any other questions or concerns.

Thanks Casey, it is 1 3/32 so I will order the S385.
Right away in your reply I noticed I stated the wrong channel width, I meant to say 5/8. I was quite tired when I wrote it.
I made a replacement cord but had to modify the metal hook and so it is slightly too thick but at least we can open the window to let in some cool air in the PM.
I'm going to order one for each side.
Thanks again.
