Channel Balance

Question

Hello,
I have (2) windows with this set of balances.
The sash weighed 26.5 lbs
The length of the metal was 20-5/8" long.
This window failed so if there is an alternate channel stamp with the correct corresponding weight I provided, I'd like to explore using a standard length.

Hello,

We can supply your replacement balances but it will need to be a custom order due to the length, extended travel pulley system and unique combination of end attachments. With that being said, your 20-9 stamp indicates that the springs are calibrated to support a sash between 28-31 lbs. We normally recommend using the original stamp for the replacements but if your sash weighs exactly 26-1/2 pounds, we can also provide 20-6 stamped balances, which will carry a sash between 25-28 lbs.
