Channel Balance

Quick Learner from California
Hi,
I have the the single hung window with broken channel balance.  The sticker shows series: 6210/6230/6230J/6270 H-R20 - 108*78 H-R25-48x78.  And the stamp shows "25-5" with 8.S1pt. Is this a 25 inch with 25 pounds channel balance?  And is your channel balance comes with everything I need including the hook?
Please help me identity which item part no. for the channel balance I should order.  Thank you in advance for your help.
Thanks,
Linda

Hi there Linda.

We can supply this balance, but only as a custom order due to its configuration. Before we go any further, can you kindly tell me how many you wanted to buy?

You should also note that the original manufacturer discontinued your exact assembly and no longer makes it. The good news is that they have a modern equivalent that is meant to work in all the same applications. The design is a little different, though, and as a result, so is the spring calibration. I will need you to tell me the exact weight of your sash, down to the ounce, so that we can verify the proper calibration on the new style.

Once I have that data, I'll email you a purchase link and price quote that will let you place an order on our site.

Hi Emily
Thanks for your reponse.  I need to order 2 channel balances with top and bottom attached and the weight for the sash is 11.49oz. However, I am curious that I had already provided the stamp 25-5 info to you.  Doesn't it already reflect the weight or strength needs at least 25 lb and up is required the channel balance?  Also what is the ETA lead time for the order? and can we return them if the model # you provided doesn't fit our window?  More pictures are provided for your reference.
Thank you for your assistance,
Linda

The stamp tells us the weight range for the balance, but the new style balance uses a slightly different rating system. The sash weight is required so that we can recalibrate the strength for the replacements.

However, it appears you're weighing the channel balance in these photos, not the window sash. The window sash is the glass panel that moves up and down, which you'll need to remove to weigh it.

Once we have the weight, we can confirm the lead time. Custom orders are also nonrefundable, but customers have reported that the new style balances work well. In some cases, it was reported that they work better than the old-style balances.

Hi Emily,
The Sash for the Stamp 25-5 26" channel is 22.7 lbs.  I also need the broken top sash guide for my sash.  Also, there is another smaller window that I need two channel balances for.  It's 13 11/16 inch with stamp 13.2 BS1 on it. Here are the pictures for the broekn top sash guide and the 13.2 BS1 channel balance.  Please let me know the price, shipping fee and lead time for getting those items.
Thanks,
Linda

Thank you, Linda! We're getting there. We're happy to help with the 13 2 balance as well, but we'll need to know the weight of the window sash.

As for the top sash guide, we don't sell an exact match, but the 18-188 is similar. Review the specifications and see what you think.

Thank you, Emily,  The sash for 13.2 stamp is about 9.5 pounds.   And yes, the top sash guide 18-88 for the 25.5 looks good and I need 2 of those.  I hope you have all the information you need.  I really need the 26" channel balance and the 18-88 top guide.  Also, do you have the So here is the recap of what I need:
2 x 26" stamp 25-5 channel balances with top/bottom/hook already attached and 2 x 18-188 top guides.
2 x 14 inches stamp 13-2 channel balances with top/bottom/hook already attached.

Thanks,
Linda

Sorry Emily, the length for the 13.2 stamp channle balance is only 13.7 inch, not 14 inch.  Please disregard my previous error measurement.

Thank you, Linda! We appreciate you bearing with us. Since the balances are a newer style, the length, top, and bottom fittings will slightly differ.

We're sending you a purchase link for balances with the 2540 and 1330 stamps. The 2540 balances are calibrated for a sash weighing 19 to 25 pounds, and the 1330 balances are calibrated for a sash weighing 9 to 11 pounds. Please note that the 18-188 top sash guide is sold separately, so you'll have to add your needed quantity to the cart separately.

I'll be here if you have any questions.
