Channel Balance

A home owner from Virginia Beach says:

This is the only window in the house with this type of balance; all the others are similar to your Series 850 Crossbow Balances. This is an aluminum channel balance, with "2800 BS1 LK" stamped into it (see photo). It appears that the string comes down and connects to a strange plastic piece that doesn't move, either because it's wedged in or fastened. Also, it appears that the channel itself is wider than the track in which it resides, so I don't know how to get it out.

Any help would be appreciated, both in whether you have the right replacement, and how to remove it without causing damage! The channel itself is 28".

Based on your pictures, I would recommend our S775-28 channel balance. Your stamp is a little different, so you would need to weigh your sash on a scale to confirm the best option.
