I need to replace the block and tackle devices on two windows. The first device has a designation 22 4 IQ Caldwell the second designation is 24 4 EQ Caldwell.
I wish to replace both devices for each of two windows.
I will attach photos of the plastic ends.

Thanks for the photos. This is a really, really common balance. I'm going to give some detailed instructions to help you nail down the ID. Go over these directions carefully and let me know if you still have questions afterwards. This post is long, I know, but it'll help you figure out exactly what you need.
To start, I can tell just from the shape of the top and bottom (which have wings) that you need Series 380 or Series 385. Figuring out which Series you need is the first step to identifying the balance, so let's focus on that first.
For each balance, you just need to measure the bottom shoe as shown at the bottom of this post; that's the only difference between the two Series. The Series 380 measures 1", and the Series 385 measures 1-3/32", so you just want to choose whichever one matches yours. Usually both balances would be the same Series, but be sure to actually check that; don't take it for granted.
After you pick your Series, you need to measure each metal bar, which indicates the nominal length of the balance. Don't include the plastic, just measure the metal. Your "24 4" stamped code is telling me you might have a 25" balance, but you should confirm that by measuring. For the "22 4" code, you probably need a 23" balance.
The last step is identifying your option. Again, the stamp speaks to us: "2240. 2440." Add a zero to the stamped code, and you usually get the option. Your shorter balance appears to need a 2240 stamp, and the longer one appears to need a 2440 option. It's not a 1 to 1 relationship, though (there are exceptions), so you should double-check by weighing your whole window pane/frame, or "sash."
If you slide out the sash and put it on a bathroom scale, you can compare the weight to the chart on the S380-25/S385-25 and S380-23/S385-23 webpages. It should weigh between 19 and 24 pounds if it requires a 2440 option. If not, choose another option from the chart to match what you need. The 2240 option, on the other hand, should weigh 19 to 23 pounds, just shy of the 2440.
Now, that should be all you need to know in order to make a purchase. Measure your shoe, choose your Series, double-check the length is 25", double-check the weight is 19-23 or 19-24 pounds, and place your order. Feel free to follow up about anything you might want to know about these balances.
