Channel Balance Help

A quick learner from San Francisco says:

Hello,

I need some assistance in finding the correct channel balance. I have 30 year old Milgard single hung aluminum windows that are double pane. I will attach the pictures I have taken. Can you help me with getting the correct balance?

I have looked at your site and this is the conclusion I have come to. The correct balance is your S390 with the 1 1/8 inch depth bottom shoe and 21 inches in length. Thenwindow pane that the balance supports is 21 x 43. They are quite heavy. The double window pane I took out is broken so I can get get an accurate weight on it. One pane is broken. One pane is intact.

The stamp on the balance is 2090 BSI. The S390 you have in you site goes up to 2060.

Does that mean that it is not lift as much as as 2090?

Any suggestions on this situation?

Let me know if you need more pictures.

Robert

Hey, Robert. I agree that the S390-21 is the right match, but the stamp is an issue. Yours uses an old rating system that has fallen out of service. One of our standard options very well may be what you want, but you will have to get the weight of your sash to confirm.

I understand it won't be possible to be precise with a broken window but there is no other way. Do you have an identical window in the house that is the same size and weight?

A quick learner from San Francisco says:
Tom,
No wonder I could not find it. I am getting the window repaired. I will get back to you with the weight in a week or so.
Thanks, Robert
