Channel Balance ID

The metal portion measures 26-5/8", so is this a 26" part? The numbers on part appear to be 351 and 26 and 4 PH. So what would be correct part to order?

Thanks for writing in. This balance actually has to be custom made due to its unique length, as well as the clip that comes out of the bottom nylon shoe. To get this started for you, can you confirm the clip matches our 62-108? If not, please show us a clearer picture of the clip from the side. Also, how many balances do you need? From there, we'll get this started for you. Many thanks.

It appears that 62108 is correct clip. Attached are pics as well. What is cost for special made piece? The metal bar excluding clip is 26-5/8".

One last question, can we put the shorter one in there? Seems to me it should work, maybe it won't open as wide but that's ok. Thanks for all your help Bob.

I am not sure what you mean. Do you mean the standard balance that is 26" long? In any event, no, channel balances of different lengths are not compatible with the ones needed for your window sash. The window will not work properly otherwise. Keep in mind too that these custom balances are designated not only by their unique length, but the configuration of the clip coming out of the the shoe as well. Our standard balances have this clip coming out of the 'guts' of the metal channel itself. Trying to make a balance with a different configuration work in your window can lead to damage to the balance or window itself. In general with window balances, we always recommend that you replace what you have.
