Thanks for posting. This looks like either an S380-33 or S385-33. The only difference between these two balances is the depth of the bottom nylon shoe, or the 'heel-to-toe' measurement. See the illustration below. Compare both with your old hardware to see which matches best.

In either case you have to choose a stamp option, which designates the strength of the balance. That's actually what the stamp on your balance refers to, not the length--choose a stamp of 3250. 

That's not really a question I can answer. If you don't think the original "32 5" stamp is the right calibration for your window, then you will need to weigh your sash on a scale and refer to the weight chart we show on each balance's store page, whether you go with the S380-33 or S385-33. You would then pick the weight rating that is appropriate.

It should also bear mentioning that you never want to use a spring that's too strong for your sash weight. It will not work better. On the contrary, it will actually be worse. If the upward force provided by the springs is higher than the downward force provided by the weight of the sash, then your window will be much harder to close. In a worst case scenario it will even open on its own.

You want a balance that is calibrated with a range that covers your exact sash weight; no more, no less. Stronger is not better.
