Channel Balance Indentification

A handy person from Atlanta, GA says:
Hey friends,

I have a broken spring on my channel balance and I'd like to replace the entire channel balance. But I'm not sure what I have. It's a non-tilt window and the channel balance is 28". There is a 270 labeled on one of the ends in the picture.

Let me know if there's anymore information that you need. Thanks so much!

Hello there. See either our S351-28 or S390-28. The only difference between these two balances is the depth of the bottom nylon shoe, so compare both with your old hardware to see what matches best. You'll then have to choose a stamp option. I would check another balance of the same size to confirm the stamp code, as yours looks worn down to read, and I doubt it says 270. If in doubt, obtain the exact weight of your window sash. You can then match that exact weight with one of the weight ranges listed alongside each stamp option on the balance's shop page.

A handy person from Atlanta, GA says:
Hey Bob,

Thanks so much for the reply. I believe you were right in that it is the S390-28. However, I'm not sure what Stamp Option I should choose. When you refer to weighing my window sash, Should I weigh the entire piece? I don't see a specific part of the channel balance that is just a "Sash Weight".

Another important thing. You were right, it does not say 270 on the side. It says 27 C.

Thanks for all the help,

Derek

Hey Derek. If it says 27C, we can skip weighing the window sash. That should conform to our stamp option of 2730. Let me know if you have other questions.
