Channel Balance Question

31" Series 385 Channel Balance
Product Code: S385-31

My balance seems to match the above product. I have checked all measurements according to your helpful videos and the ends seem to match. The markings on the balance are 30 3 B.S.I. OB

I am unsure of the sash weight range option unless I try to weigh the window. Would it hurt to install a sash with a heavier weight range ? Does it make the window harder to open ? Any advice would be appreciated.

Based on your stamp, I would go with our 3030 option. You could also always weigh the sash to confirm, yes. You don't want a stronger spring than necessary. If the spring is too strong, you may have trouble closing the window. If it's especially strong, the window would even drift up after you close it.
