Channel Balance Replacement 2630L

Quick Learner from Lake Oswego, Or
Hi,
I want to replace some channel balances. They are stamped 2630L and look like your S385-27 parts, EXCEPT that the lower balance shoe has no wings on my old parts. You don't have this combination as an option. Can I use S385-27 parts as replacements?

Thanks, Sean

Thanks for posting, Sean! With a winged top attachment and a non-winged bottom attachment, the balance you need is most likely our S395

Before we begin, though, I'll have to figure out what your bottom shoe is, as the non-winged versions are a little different than those that do have wings. Please look at the measurements for our 15-001 and 15-002 bottom shoes and note their depths. As you can see, they are 1-1/8" deep and 1" deep, respectively. Which measurement more closely resembles your own shoe?

Thanks for the additional information, Sean. It's actually fairly common for one attachment to have wings and the other not to. If one does not have wings, then there may be an obstruction in the channel, as you suggested, that would interfere with the balance's operation. Regardless, it's always wise to replace your hardware with what was installed originally.

Now, to begin this order, please take a look at S395-27 with the stamp option of 2630.

Hi Tom,
my parts measure about 1-1/8". These are from a rental house, so I can't take a closer look at the window right now to understand better how they work but it seems odd that one end would have wings and the other not. I assume that they run in the same channel, maybe there's a part at the bottom of the channel that precludes wings on the shoe? Does that make sense?

Thanks, hope that's enough info. Let me know how much parts for 2 windows will cost.

Sean
