Replacement Caldwell channel balances

Question

Hi Swisco. I need to replace the 2 channel balances for my non-tilt window sash. Length of the metal channel is 23 inches and 1/2 inch wide. The weight of the sash is 16 lbs. The marking on one of the frames is; 22 3 IL CALDWELL. The marking on the other is 22 4 IL CALDWELL.

It looks like, (see attached pictures), that they are either series 380 or series 385. I can't see the difference from your pictures.

Also, of coarse, I do not know the proper weight stamp. It looks like one is the "stamp option" 2230 and the other is the 2240.

Also, do you supply them assembled as unit or do we need to assemble them.

Hello, Paul. Thank you for contacting us. You may want to begin by taking a look at our S380 and S385 channel balances. The measurements of the bottom balance shoe will determine which one of these you would choose as a replacement.

Would both of these balances happen to be for the same window? If so, they should really have the same stamp marking.

For a sash weight of 16 pounds, we suggest our 2230 option for both balances. Get back to us, and let us know how you made out with this.
