Channel Balance Stamp Options

Casey from SWISCO responded:
Weigh the window sash to determine the proper Stamp to purchase.
The 24R will carry a sash weight range of 10 through 18 pounds
The 24HD will hold 18 through 22 pounds
The 24TG will hold 22 through 30 pounds

This information is based on 2 balances per sash. Balances are designed assuming friction in the jamb weather-strip will carry a portion of the sash weight. Suggested sash weights are approximate.
A home owner from Okeana, OH says:
I am looking for Window Channel Balance replacments. From your web site I have identified "25" Series 751 Channel Balance". However the options you offer are 24tg, 24hd, and 24r. My channels are stamped with just "24". Can I use one of the other options?
A home owner from NH says:
I have an old RIVCO window with existing balances labeled both 24Q and 24R. Is the S751-25 - 24R the correct balance?
Does the balance come with instructions on how to replace it in the channel?
Can I also get the pieces that attach to the sash that fit into the shoes? Some of those were plastic and are broken as well.

A quick learner from Albion NY says:
The window balance I have to replace has 24HDK, does the K mean I need something special, or can I use just the 24HD?

Dave Sr. from SWISCO responded:
No, The K doesn't mean anything. Use 24HD.
