Channel Balance for Non-tilt windows

A home owner from Bradenton, FL says:

I have a broken channel balance from windows that were installed in condo built in mid '90's. Am sure these are original equipment. Rivet broke form spring is not repairable. Based on your fantastic guidance, I know the piece is 25" long and 1/2 inch wide. Stamp on channel is 24C Z, hope you might know what this means. Appreciate your recommendation on what exact balances I need. Will order 2 and replace both when I install.

Thanks for your help

Hi, Larry. See our S380-25 or S385-25 Channel Balances. The only difference between these two balances is the 'depth' of the bottom nylon shoe. With the Series 380 the depth of this nylon shoe is 1", whereas with the Series 385 it is 1-3/32". Compare with your own and see what is best.

Once you know which balance you need, you must choose a stamp option. Your stamp of 24C conforms to our stamp option of 2430, for a window sash in the weight range of 15 through 19 lbs. Let us know if you have any other questions.
