2940 Channel Balance size

Question

Good morning, I am uncertain as to which replacement channel balance I should order. I measured the metal portion of the channel and come up with 29 3/4 inches. The number on the channel is 2940. I removed the sash and it weighs 25 lbs. According to your excellent website, it is the correct number for that weight. Should I order a 30" channel or does that 3/4" make a difference? Please see attached photos.

Hello! First of all, thank you for saying our site is excellent. That's always a nice thing to hear in the morning.

Second of all, we can definitely supply this balance, but it will have to be a custom order. You have a unique type of balance setup notable by having a pulley wheel installed in the bottom fitting, as well as an extended cord length. You've also noted the length ending on a fraction rather than a whole inch. None of our stock balances can replace it, unfortunately.

The good news is that your photos are a huge help. We have just about everything we need to get started, but I still need a couple pieces of information. First, can you show me a picture of the metal hook or clip that was at the end of the cord? It looks like yours is missing, so you may want to get an undamaged balance to use as a reference.

Second, can you tell me how many you need? Custom orders require a pre-set quantity, so we'll have to know that ahead of time.
