Channel Balance with 2720 Stamp
Thanks for posting. Please confirm that the metal channel is 28" long, not including the nylon attachments at either end. If so, please see either our S351-28 or S390-28 Channel Balances. The only difference between these two balance Series is the 'depth' of the bottom nylon shoe. The Series 351 bottom nylon shoe has a depth of 1", whereas the Series 390 bottom nylon shoe has a depth of 1-1/8". Compare with your old balances and see what you think matches best.
Once you know which balance you'll need, you need to pick a stamp option. Your stamp of 2720 is for a window sash in the weight range of 9 through 13 lbs. Let us know if you have any questions.
Thanks for letting me know. This is why it always pays to check the metal channel length. Your stamp of 2720 suggests you should have a 28" balance; but sometimes in these cases the workers who originally built the window cut the balances down to fit their needs. In this case, you will need either the S351-26 or S390-26 instead. Follow the same rubric above regarding the depth of the bottom nylon shoe to know which to pick.
Your stamped code will no longer be reliable to choosing a stamp option. You must weigh your window sash. That precise weight can then be matched with one of the weight ranges listed for each stamp option on the product page.
