Hello, Mark. This balance looks like a good match for our Series 770 channel balance. Look it over and let me know if you agree.

A home owner from Wisconsin says:
Hello Tom,

The 770 series looks like a match for fastening the cord to the window hardware. The Windows are 33" wide X 35" tall (see photo) and the old balance frame has a stamped C that I assume is the widow weight code. Would it be a better Idea to order the 770 series D to be safe?

Thanks much Tom.

Tom from SWISCO responded:

Hey, Mark. You don't necessarily want a stronger spring. If a spring is too strong, then your windows will be harder to close and could even drift up on their own.

If your old balance is stamped with C then I usually recommend sticking with that. If you have any doubts about that, though, then you can always weigh your sash on a scale to confirm. We have a chart on the S770-33 store page that tells you exactly how much weight each option supports. It's totally possible that the original installers put in the wrong strength (it happens alllllll the time) so it definitely wouldn't hurt to check.

Tom,
Thanks so much for the awesome service and I will order 2 sets of S770-33C's this week.
