Channel Balancer id

Quick Learner from Washington state

I need help identifying a 1/2" Wide Channel Balancer. It's stamped with 25.5" long. Looks like either a 380 or 385. I have attached a couple pics of the ends.

Thanks

Hi Klaus,

Thanks for writing in! The channel balance you have here is an Extended-Travel Channel Balance and will need to be a custom assembly. Our Series 380 and Series 385 would not be suitable replacements for it. There are quite a few notable differences between a "standard balance" and an Extended Travel Channel Balance.

The length of the metal on this balance should be 25-5/8"; A standard balance is made in whole number increments. The standard balances would not hold up very long in the window given the difference in the travel length.

The shoe on the balance is much different than the one installed on a standard balance. Extended Travel Balances have a shoe with a wheel installed directly into them. It also has a much different shape and it has a hook attached to the bottom of it.

That said, to confirm the correct replacement, I will need to see the hook from the bottom shoe. Since your appears to be missing the hook, you'll need to find an undamaged balance.

Please let me know if you have any questions in the meantime.
